Excitement overflows for a kid at Christmas. Anticipation abounds when waiting for a surprise. Enthusiasm breaks forth as a goal is achieved. And I am experiencing all three in unison.
For the last few years I have read a daily devotional from Proverbs 31 ministry. After four years I feel that I know the writers. I’ve read about their marriages, their children, friendships and their walk with God. I’ve cried with them, laughed with them and listened to them. They have become my friends. Yet we have never met. Tomorrow that is going to change. I get to meet in person the author of the book that has encouraged me immensely the last 12 weeks as I worked on A Confident Heart. Renee Swope is teaching a class that I am attending on writing life changing devotions.
Lisa TerKeurst will be helping me to pursue excellence as a speaker. I read her book Made to Crave last winter that explained a mindset I had never understood. She is also teaching a class on Marketing your message and expanding your ministry that I know I can benefit from.
Micca Campbell will help me deal with my fear in this new endeavor as she teaches a class Fear Not. Lynn Cowell is the leader of my speaker evaluation group. She will be helping to speak with clarity, engage my audience and glorify God.
I am so excited I don’t know if I can sleep tonight. Tomorrow begins the journey of getting to meet face to face some of my favorite authors! They will be jumping off the pages of their books and standing before me. Just like a kid at Christmas who can’t wait to wake up the next morning, I try to close my eyes only to have an adrenaline rush.
I know I am coming home a changed person and can’t wait to share it with you!
