Seasons of Change

By Dana Rausch / October 2, 2013

Change is hard. I wasn’t prepared for the solitude after quitting my job of 23 years. The aloneness, the lack of daily dialogue with co-workers/friends and the immense quietness made me feel sad. The feelings of being lost and abandoned filled my days. Yet it was exactly what I needed. My life had become no […]

Letter to My Children….

By Dana Rausch / September 23, 2013

Dear Brooke, Brittany, and Brent: Listen to some motherly advice; sit up and take notice so you’ll know how to live. I’m giving you good counsel; don’t let it go in one ear and out the other. Take this to heart. Do what I tell you—live! Sell everything and buy Wisdom! Hunt for Understanding! Don’t […]

Where Does A Mother Go To Resign?

By Dana Rausch / September 12, 2013

Where does a mother go to resign? I have wanted to find that place many times through the years.   Raising children can be grueling. Even though we love them with all our heart, along with the joy and happiness comes heartbreak and pain.     I once thought I would be handing in my […]

Officiating the Game of Life

By Dana Rausch / September 9, 2013

“Those referees were terrible! They cost us the game! Our score should have been…..! They were so one-sided!” and it goes on and on. If I had a nickel for every time I’d heard those remarks, I’d be rich! Although I would never in a million years chose to be a referee, sometimes I […]

Chest Pains

By Dana Rausch / September 5, 2013

Last week I woke up in morning with my chest feeling tight. At noon I contacted my sister to ask how a panic attack felt but my symptoms were not the same.  What I read on the internet said get to the emergency room! Because I didn’t want to alarm my kids or distress the […]

Take the time

By Dana Rausch / August 19, 2013

Take is defined as; to capture, to seize, acquire, confiscate, and get into your possession. Time is one thing that can never be repaid or replaced. Once it is gone – it is lost forever.     Therefore – Take the time: To spend with your kids, go to their ball games, take them to […]

Fragile

By Dana Rausch / August 17, 2013

My heart hurts. It aches like the first and only time I started to read a Danielle Steel novel. I read one chapter and threw it away. I never did it again. It was too painful. Or when I went to the movies with a guy friend from high school and watched Terms of Endearment. […]

I Am Convinced

By Dana Rausch / August 5, 2013

For I am convinced that NOTHING can EVER separate us from God’s love. Neither death, life, angels, demons, fears for today, worries about tomorrow or powers of hell CAN SEPARATE us from God’s love! No power in the sky above or earth below, nothing in creation will EVER be able to separate us from the love […]

People Pleasing

By Dana Rausch / July 30, 2013

As a people pleaser, I did EVERYTHING in my power to make sure everyone else was happy. I spent time, money, and personal resources to ensure another’s happiness.   Sadly, my family, friends, and I all paid a price. Like a hamster running on a wheel, I ran and ran to get nowhere because I can […]
