My Mental Tirade

By Dana Rausch / May 22, 2014

Cedar Crest junior high camp had come to an end and it was time for the campers to clean out their cabins. As the leaders, my husband and I began the task of emptying our cabins of luggage and instructing the kids how to do so in an orderly fashion. My girl’s cabin had a […]

Dumping Ground for Toxic Words

By Dana Rausch / May 14, 2014

Toxic – the new buzz word. Some of the popular phrases going around are: ·       Letting go of toxic people in your life is a big step in loving yourself. ·       Don’t let negative and toxic people rent space in your head. Raise the rent and kick them out! ·       Remove the toxic people from […]

Holding Hands

By Dana Rausch / April 30, 2014

Her little hand slips into mine and we are off to the next great adventure. Walking to school, going in a store, or getting out of the car she always seeks my hand. And the pleasure in that moment knowing all is well in her little soul is priceless. As I consider these precious […]

Shame On You!

By Dana Rausch / April 22, 2014

Nanny knew her years were short so she started giving her beloved things to us. To each of her kids she passed on what she wanted them to have. Heirlooms, collectibles and cherished mementos were given to those she loved. When she was gone we all gathered to go through her home. I remember sitting […]

My World’s Been Rocked

By Dana Rausch / April 8, 2014

No, he wasn’t every mother’s dream for her daughter. He wasn’t a clean cut, church going, college degree, Christian raised type of guy. One who owned his own house, drove a new car, shopped at Sac’s, and had a portfolio to impress. Instead he’s covered in tattoos, served time, a recovering alcoholic, loves Jesus and […]

Lost on the Highway of Life

No! You Can’t! Don’t Do That!

By Dana Rausch / March 26, 2014

Do you equate God with these words? No! You can’t! Don’t do that! Do you feel as if: ·       God is in heaven pointing a finger at you yelling No! ·       Shaking his head in disgust screaming You can’t! ·       Glaring down his nose shouting Don’t Do That! Sadly, many of us do. Why? Because […]

Out of Alignment

By Dana Rausch / March 7, 2014

The athletic trainer gently pushed, prodded and maneuvered the shoulder back into place. I watched the athlete writhing in pain slowly relax. The hit on the football field had dislocated his shoulder. But the trainer had put it back into alignment. Although sore, the player once again had mobility and was on the mend.   […]

Knocking at the Door

By Dana Rausch / February 21, 2014

·       I hate my life. ·       I’m not fulfilled. ·       Life is a disappointment. ·       I am not doing what I want to do. ·       I spend all my time trying to make everyone else happy, while I remain unhappy. ·       I hate my life….. These thoughts knock at the door to my mind, but […]
